Chronograph

A chronograph watch is a type of timepiece that not only tells the time like a traditional watch but also includes additional stopwatch functions. These functions typically include independent timekeeping for measuring intervals of time, often featuring subdials on the watch face to display the elapsed time in hours, minutes, and seconds. ​ Chronograph watches are popular for their versatility and practicality, as they can be used for a variety of purposes such as timing events, sports activities, or simply as a stylish accessory. They often have push-buttons on the side of the case that control the start, stop, and reset functions of the stopwatch feature. ​  Some chronograph watches also have additional features such as tachymeters, which allow for the measurement of speed based on time and distance, or telemeters, which can measure distance based on time and speed of sound.
